These small ceramic women mirror the larger sculptures in the exhibition. Each one carries, holds, or embraces what we hold; our memories, our hopes, our world. Inspired by the 'tecomate', the traditional Mayan gourd whose shape echoes the female form and carries water or sacred things, these figures are vessels of care and guardianship.
