Holding Light is presented in the Project Gallery alongside Patina of the Highlands by Alfredo García. Inspired by his work, this exhibition brings together a selection of Houston-based painters grounded in observation and a strong understanding of their medium. The aim is to create space for local artists—to support their work, build community, and keep the gallery in active dialogue with the city. Across different approaches to landscape and place, these paintings invite a slower way of looking. Color settles, surfaces hold, and something begins to emerge the longer you stay with the work. These are artists who observe closely, who know how to see, and through that, make space for the rest of us to feel it.
