We are now accepting applications for the 2025–2026 cohort.

Program Features

  • Participate in a professionally curated three-person exhibition at Monterroso Gallery, developed over the course of the year with support from an external curatorial advisor.

  • Join a close-knit cohort of artists who meet weekly for work-in-progress showings, workshops, field trips, and behind-the-scenes gallery sessions.

  • Receive monthly curatorial feedback, regular opportunities for visibility, and guidance on exhibition planning and promotion.

  • Host and attend studio visits with other residents to share process and build mutual support.

  • Lead or participate in artist-led workshops, share skills, and learn from others.

  • Have a dedicated artist page on the Monterroso Gallery website.

  • Have the option to sell work through our online store ($50/month admin fee + 20% commission).

  • have the option to join Guatemala residency extension, which includes guided cultural visits, studio time, and the opportunity to exhibit internationally (additional cost).

This is a community-centered program that blends accountability, professional growth, and shared learning.

Residency Expectations

  • Program Dates: October 1, 2025 – September 30, 2026

  • Fee: $300/month for full participation

All residents already receive a dedicated artist page on our website; this optional feature simply extends your visibility and market reach.

  • A full calendar and itinerary will be shared before the program begins. Monthly rythm schedule

  • Artists are expected to create new work for the final exhibition.

  • Participation in workshops, studio visits, and public-facing events is strongly encouraged to build connection and visibility.
